A Brief History of Urban Curling
Some of the more astute (or just really bored) readers may have noticed Eric's comment on this post. Of those select few readers, some of the really, really bored ones might have asked themselves, "What is this urban curling thing?" For the rest of you, just keep reading anyway, you might learn something.
Urban curling is one of many half-baked games invented by us Dirolf boys at those times when boredom pushes us to the edge. This origins of this particular game involved finding an old dirty tire while walking around at Southgate school. The game works like this: Two teams of two compete to see who can get the old dirty tire to roll to a stop nearest to the center of a paved basketball court. One team member rolls the tire from the edge of the court, while the other gets to place two rocks or sticks anywhere on the court (except inside the center circle) to try to slow the tire down or change its direction. I think there may have also been a few more rules that I'm not remembering at the moment.
The lesson to take away from this is that old tires are fun. And rocks and sticks are fun.

You Dirolf boys need to get your collective rear ends to Walmart, aisle 9, and buy a life!!! No need to go for an expensive one- even the economy version would be an upgrade!!!!
